ANGEL CORPUS CHRISTI
Wake Up and Cry (Criminal
Damage; England) 12" EP $18
1986 EP by Angel Corpus Christi a.k.a. Andrea
Ross, longtime MX-80 collaborator
and "better half" of MX-80's Rich Stim. This
features six songs done in Angel's trademark
accordion-pop sad-funtime style. "I Can't Make
It," "Love in the Shadows," "Wild Bill," and the
title tune are originals written by Angel and Rich
(who plays guitar under the pseudonym Jr. Grenadier).
Plus Angel covers Lou Reed's "Rock & Roll Heart"
and Don Ciccone's "Never Too Late for Linda." MX-80's Bruce
Anderson (MX-80) provides sci-fi razor-slice guitar
on the title tune, and MX-80 drummer Dave Mahoney
does background vocals.
