THE LADDS FROM
BELLEVUE
"Relative Distance"/"Till the Stroke
of Dawn" (Stanton Park Records) $10
1987 Boston garage-rock by Chris Horne, Aram
Heller, Erik Lindgren, Carl Biancucci, and
Bryn Carlson. The songs are covers of obscure 60s
punkers, but they don't don't tell us who the bands
were.

LARRY LAZAR
The Lone Rocker (Nite Club Records)
4-song EP $10
Hollywood 1977. This was sold as "new wave" in
the Bomp catalog and a couple of other places;
still pops up as "early punk" or "glam-punk"
on sale lists. To my ears, it sounds like Larry just
got off the bus from Iowa with visions of being the next
Neil Diamond. But it's certainly not professionally
recorded, and might hold some charm for somebody reading
this. Eh? Larry does four originals: "Welcome to
the Club"/"Merci Beaucoup"/"Goin' Hollywood"/"The Nite
Is Young."
